As the largest city in Texas and one of the largest in the country, Houston residents have lots of options when it comes to picking a cable TV provider. This can be overwhelming, so we’ve reviewed all the options and outlined the best three.
Available to more than 95 percent of homes in Houston, AT&T offers the best combination of value and service. Premier packages will get you access to more than 565 channels, and you can bundle with high-speed internet to save even more.
Basic packages start at just $60 per month, but for around $100 you can get more channels and internet speeds up to 100 Mbps.
You’ll also have the option to sign up for DirecTV, which is part of AT&T giving you even more options.
A close competitor to AT&T, Xfinity from Comcast is an excellent choice for Houston residents. It’s available to about 92 percent of the city, and it also offers some exciting bundles that allow you to get a lot more bang for your buck.
In general, though, Xfinity offers you fewer channels to choose from, with most plans including around 250 channels.
However, if this doesn’t bother you, consider that Xfinity is a bit cheaper. Basic plans start at just $40 per month, but if you bundle with internet expect to pay a similar amount as you would with AT&T.
#3 En-Touch Systems
Available only to about 15 percent of the city, En-Touch is a distant third on this list. It offers similar channel packages and bundles can get you 1 Gbps internet speed, but the internet is this company’s priority, meaning if TV is what you care about, you should go with one of the other providers on the list.
Overall, if you live in Houston, you have two really good options and one okay choice for cable TV providers. Start your search there and you’ll surely find the best deal for you.
